I signed up for the Mooseman Triathlon in Newfound Lake, New Hampshire for next June. I will be training for the next several months so I will hopefully be able to complete the 1.5 k swim, 44 k bike ride, and 10 k run. As part of the Team in Training I will also be assigned a mentor and given training information to help me on my journey.
I also have to raise $ 2,700 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. If you can spare even a few dollars I would really appreciate your donation. You can donate here, and all donations are tax deductible.

I was just talking about Rolling Stone yesterday and now the magazine will be changing its formatting and looking like every other magazine out there. Luckily it’s what’s on the inside that counts. The change is gonna come complete with an Obama cover for the October 30th issue. Rolling Stone collectors rejoice!

I had an appraiser come through my new home today in the hopes that I will get an abatement on my taxes. The current tax bill is for a $ 175,000 property. I paid $ 63,000, that’s a significant difference in my book. It’s the top floor of a three decker and there’s no way it was ever worth $ 175,000.
Not sure what the appraisal is going to come in at, but either way I’m pretty happy with my purchase, even if it did take seven months to close and the inside is disgusting because it’s a foreclosure. I’m not sure whether to hope the appraisal comes in really high for property value reasons, or low for tax purposes. Either way it’s home, and it’s mine, and I love it.
Looks like I can check “become a homeowner” off my list of 30 things to do.

I caved in and signed up for myspace again. I decided I used it too much for a lot of the local articles I write that it would probably be easier if I signed up again. Not to mention how else would I send G comments that we’re in Miami while she’s sitting next to me on the beach, and think it’s insanely more funny than it actually is. I figured while I was at it I might as well update my linkedin account that I never use and sign up for facebook, what the hell, why not? So if you see me on there do me a favor and add me so I don’t have to do it, I still can’t figure out facebook. Thanksssssssssssss
